Jean the Tailor - models and customization

Jean Tailor produces individual cuts for individual people. That means the jeans are sewn specifically for you — not just in some groups of “forms”, but by your exact measures — it’s a perfect fit! We achieve this by drawing an individual cut for every single pair that we create, and cutting them all out of denim one by one.

The Classic Jeans
A classic jeans fit. High quality European denim, available in stiff (100% cotton) or stretch (2% elastane) denim variants.

The classic model looks good with almost anything you can imagine — be it a casual outfit for everyday wear or a night out in the club — the perfect fit is always in style.
Selvedge Straight-Cut
The best in selvedge denim for the true denim aficionado. The eternal straight cut, made of Japanese 14.5 oz selvedge denim straight from Japan’s Kuroki mills comes with an ornamental strip of denim self-edge on the 5th pocket.
Classy Trouser Jeans
A real class of its own — the authentic trouser look, except in denim. Complete with trouser crease lines and trouser pockets.

Available in stiff (100% cotton) or stretch (2% elastane) denim. Perfect for a more sophisticated look with a shirt or blouse.

When creating your own jeans at one of our partner ateliers, you will be able to customize a variety of ingredients — below you can see a brief summary of the available options — but you will get a much better overview when you visit our partners personally.

Denim
You select the denim for your jeans — you can choose between 100% cotton (indigo or black), stretch denim, and Kuroki selvedge.
Buttons and rivets
Available options for your button/rivets combination are bronze, silver and gold. You can also choose not to have any rivets, or have them only in the front — how ever you like it.
Threads
You can either raise or lower the contrast of your garment by selecting from our threads options: orange, yellow, indigo or black.
Lining
Choose your pocket lining and decorate the inside of your garment — currently linings are available in white or black.
Laser distressing
If you'd like your jeans to have a more worn/distressed look, you have the option of doing so with a state-of-the-art industry laser specialized for creating wear patterns.

Wash

At the end of the day, the wash of your jeans contributes most to their appearance.
You can choose from a variety of options when it comes to washing:

Raw

For the lovers of dry denim. Original coloring, no pre-shrinking, the denim serving as a canvas for your individual future fades and creases.
Dark blue

The classic in jeans color, this is how the world got to know it; the blue jeans.
Light blue

Bleached to a light shade of blue, this is the lightest of the washes.
Dirty

By adding color to the bleaching, this wash gives off a more distressed, hardcore look.
